Continue using existing switches

A particular advantage for retrofitting: The existing installation can be used if a neutral wire is available. Even existing two-way connections can be used in conjunction with the ELPA 540 APP BN by rewiring them accordingly. And best of all: Switches do not need to be replaced with push to make switches!

This allows for quick and cost-effective modernizations without having to fundamentally alter the existing installation.

Additional benefit: Fan control in restroom areas

In addition to classic stairwell lighting control, the ELPA 540 APP BN is also suitable for retrofitting fan controls in restroom areas. Installation takes place directly behind switches or push buttons. Fans without integrated time control or automatic delay, in particular, benefit from this solution.

Bluetooth Mesh for flexible building solutions

The ELPA 540 APP BN communicates via a Bluetooth Mesh network. Multiple devices can be connected to a shared network. The configuration of a connected device is automatically transferred to all other ELPA 540 APP BN units. A central control unit in the control cabinet is not required.

This offers significant advantages:

  • Scalable installation

  • High reliability

  • No central control required

  • Easy expansion of existing systems

Safety note: If an ELPA 540 APP BN is integrated into the mesh network, no other devices from the 540 series may be integrated into the network! The lighting settings in the stairwell are thus tamper-proof.

Tamper-proof configuration via app

Configuration is performed exclusively via the ELPA app. This allows important parameters such as lighting duration, switch-off pre-warning, or time delays to be securely set. Residents continue to operate the lighting via the existing switches or push buttons but do not have access to the settings.

If only a single ELPA 540 APP BN is installed, the device can also be operated with the factory settings. The app is then not strictly necessary.
