This is our statement and our promise to our customers. It all started with the first staircase time switch developed by the company founder Paul Schwenk back in 1921. It continues to apply today to all our products, such as our Presence and Motion Detectors, as well as the worldwide standard KNX, Theben is proud to have made a significant contribution towards its development and ever growing success.
Anyone involved in planning and constructing buildings or who uses and installs our innovative products, is well aware of this fact. Thanks to this, the Theben name can boast an excellent reputation on a worldwide scale. The company has long been represented in over 60 countries around the globe. Alongside Germany, the group has its own subsidiaries in France, Great Britain, Italy, Switzerland, the Netherlands and Singapore.
The foundations of this success lie in the expertise of our employees whom we have to thank for the innovation and high quality of our products. Among them are bestsellers like the staircase time switch ELPA or the theben-timer, of which we have distributed 30 million of each over the decades. This also includes the invention of the Presence Detector in 1992 and the numerous rail-mounted devices in the top 2 range, with which Theben has become a market leader. In addition, Theben has set an example time and again in the area of KNX systems. However, first and foremost is the fact that Theben have as a consequence purposefully developed and expanded on their core competencies:
With a few exceptions, our entire product range is produced in Germany, at our headquarters in Haigerloch. During the manufacturing process itself, the 100% final inspection ensures that each of our products leaves our company in flawless conditions
The sum of all of these factors assures our clients that they have a reliable partner by their side who is open to new ideas. Theben is a leading premium supplier of intelligent solutions for saving energy and increased comfort inside and outside the building. This is what the Theben brand stands for. And that's not all: In our in-company testing laboratory, certified by VDE (German Institute for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies), we carefully examine each development from the very first idea, through prototype development, right up to start of production. Quality is something which we do not take for granted.
Since the foundation of the company almost 100 years ago, this Swabian family business has developed into a successful company with 580 employees in Germany, eight subsidiaries and branches in more than 60 countries all over the world. The Theben Group includes:
