Recycled industrial plastic

Theben is sending a clear signal for resource conservation and sustainable product development: the company is now starting to switch selected housing parts to recycled plastic. The new material bears the protected name ReShape and consists of high-quality recycled industrial plastic.

The quality and appearance of the products remain completely unchanged: technically sophisticated components, transparent parts, and switch mats will continue to be made from primary material, as these cannot yet be replaced by recycled material for functional and safety reasons.

High recycled content without compromising on quality

In the future, the housing components will consist of 93% recycled plastic. Since the housings account for the largest proportion of plastic in many products, this step has a particularly high ecological impact. The CO2 savings of the new recycled plastic compared to the previous plastic amount to around 85%. All relevant standards and quality requirements are also fully met with ReShape. For customers, this means neither a disadvantage nor additional costs  – the products remain unchanged in terms of technology, appearance, and price.

Consistent rather than half-hearted

Theben is taking a decisive step for the industry and is implementing the change directly in its existing product range – without additional costs, without visual differences, without compromising on performance. The company is thus making sustainability an integral part of its products. With ReShape, Theben is sending a clear message: sustainability comes from carefully selecting materials, reusing them, and reliably returning them to the cycle. The message is clear: If electrical equipment is disposed of properly, it can be reused as a valuable resource in high-quality products.

Name and claim

The name "ReShape" stands for the transformation of existing material into a new form. It combines "Re" – referring to key sustainability principles such as Reuse, Reduce, Recycle – with "Shape" in the sense of redesign. ReShape thus sums up what the material does: it gives industrially used plastic a new lease of life, returns it to a sustainable cycle and thereby extends its service life.
